Lakeview Elementary

Amber Kowatch, Lakeview Elementary PrincipalWelcome to Lakeview Elementary!  Lakeview is a kindergarten through second grade elementary school located at 502 W. Haight Street just four blocks from beautiful Lake Michigan in Ludington.  We are a small family-oriented school where we partner with families to provide a well rounded education for our students.

The staff and students at Lakeview Elementary take great pride in academics and extracurricular activities and are committed to preparing each of our students in all content areas for the global community, equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary for success. We strive daily to create a rigorous academic environment while ensuring systems are in place to meet each child’s academic, social and emotional needs.  We offer many differentiated opportunities for students which you may view in detail in our Points of Pride.  We strive to help each student SOAR at Lakeview through educational routines that promote Safety, Outstanding respect, And Responsibility.

Lakeview is on the cutting edge of technology and we are proud to offer 1:1 iPad devices to enhance the curriculum.  Each student uses technology to receive instruction, individual practice as well as create and access information.  We are excited to offer a roving Chromebook Lab to students in classrooms this school year.

We have a very active Parent Teacher Committee that provides financial and volunteer support for all student and staff programs.  Lakeview is a great school that provides an environment for students to excel both socially and academically.

Feel free to visit us to see all of the wonderful things happening at Lakeview Elementary!

Reading Month Celebration

We are so proud of our Lakeview students for all of their hard work during Reading Month!  Not only did they reach their goal, they surpassed it!  Thank you for reading with your children every night to make them successful life-long learners and readers.  To celebrate their accomplishments, Lakeview students were treated to a morning of Camping Themed activities and crafts and even S'mores!  Our Reading Month Committee went above and beyond to make this a month our students will never forget!

Arbor Day Tree Planting

Our Lakeview 2nd grade students researched trees this year and our whole school voted to add a Sugar Maple tree to our playground.  We then raised $270 to buy the tree and a commemorative plaque to go with it.  On Arbor Day our new Sugar Maple was planted.  Mr. Dila's class assisted in planting the new tree because they raised the most money for purchasing it.  All Lakeview students participated in the tree planting ceremony!  A big thank you to Schmock's Landscaping for helping us plant the Sugar Maple!  We cannot wait to watch this beautiful tree grow from year to year!
