Welcome to Franklin Elementary

Franklin Principal Jan JackoviakWelcome to Franklin Elementary!  Franklin is a kindergarten through second grade elementary school located at 721 E. Anderson Street in beautiful Ludington, Michigan, not far from the shore of Lake Michigan. We are a small family-oriented school where we partner with families to provide a well rounded education for our students.

The Franklin staff is highly dedicated and committed to preparing each of our students in all content areas for the global community, equipped with the knowledge and social skills necessary for success. We strive daily to create a rigorous academic environment while ensuring systems are in place to meet each child’s academic, social and emotional needs. We offer many differentiated opportunities for students which you may view in detail in our Programs and Services section.  We strive to help each student SOAR at Franklin through educational routines that promote Safety, Outstanding respect, And Responsibility.

Franklin is on the cutting edge of technology!  We are proud to offer 1:1 iPad devices to enhance the curriculum. Each student uses technology to receive instruction, individual practice as well as create and access information. We are excited to offer a roving Chromebook Lab to students in classrooms this school year.

I invite you to visit Franklin Elementary to see all of the wonderful things happening at Franklin!

Best Regards,

Franklin Elementary students will develop a passion for learning, as well as the motivation to set and achieve their own goals, with support from school staff and families.

  • I feel safe and cared for at school.
  • I can share what I’ve learned.
  • I can set goals for new learning.

At Franklin Elementary School, we collaborate with our community to guide and inspire our students to grow.

Sarah Curtis

What college/s did you attend while preparing for your assignment at LASD?
I started out at West Shore Community College and transferred to Ferris State University to complete my Bachelor’s degree.

What do you like best about teaching?
One of the many things I like about teaching is the excitement the students bring everyday. Their excitement to learn makes me excited to teach!

Share your favorite childhood school memory.
My favorite school memory was in 2nd grade when I was picked as the first student of the month. I didn’t think I would be picked and I was so excited when my name was called. That award really kept me motivated to do my best in school.

What are you most looking forward to working at LASD?
I’m looking forward to growing as a teacher with a great team to help me along the way.

What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time I enjoy hiking, kayaking, baking and spending time with friends and family.
